The "last purchased" on the product page is one of the things I like most about Amazon. I bought a single bottle for $2.49 then as well.
Same here - the Slickdeals effect is real!
Note that, at least in my experience (as someone with seborrheic dermatitis), T/Sal is very effective at controlling my seb derm .. which actually results in shedding a lot of dandruff after my skin heals. I end up having to shower and using a scalp scrubber to clear everything out later. As long as I'm consistent with the T/Sal, my skin and dandruff issues remain at bay, but if I run out and miss a day or two and allow my SD to flare up, the next time I use T/Sal I'll have a ton of dandruff within 24 hours or so.

Name checks out.
It's been years, but you used to be able to buy bottles some Canada-made knockoff of this at DT for a buck. I used it as a face wash and it seemed to be very effective against breakouts I would occasionally get that the doctor said was probably rosacea.

It's probably the smell of the salicylic acid you're noticing. I used to use a skin cream with salicylic acid, had the exact same smell as t/sal shampoo.

I prefer the smell of this over the coal tar in T/Gel.
My dermatologist also prescribed me
Ciclopirox 1% shampoo, ketoconazole 2% shampoo, and a new medicine zoryve foam 0.3% that just came out recently. Between the 3 of these my seborrheic dermatitis has all but vanished!
