Exactly. Idk why this was even posted when the new one is just for $31 more.

I agree, especially if you can buy with a cc extending the warranty by a year or two (such as a Citi Strata). Whether you may be able to extend an open box is an open question - maddingly I haven't see confirmation on whether Citi has said "open box" is or is not used, just people playing contract lawyer. But I'd just pay the extra and reduce risk.

How good of a laptop would this be if I'm looking for a laptop that I wanted to mainly use excel for while having multiple tabs open in a browser for a small business? I'd use it for watching streaming services as well and maybe some light indie gaming from time to time. It has a backlight keybaord, at least 15" screen and has 10 key which is what I'm looking for in a laptop. 16 gigs of rams as well. I will be using this laptop mainly at home while I wait for my PC to be repaired by family member. I haven't used a laptop in a while and I'm not sure if this would be able hook up to my 34" UW alienware monitor.

Best Buy allow returns on an open box laptop if there are any issues with it don't they? Unless you mean because it's open box, some of the issues may not show up until after it's outside of it's return window.
I don't believe I have a CC that extends the warranty.

You still have the original warranty for the unit, I believe. Depending on whether it was previously registered, that may be less than a year.

Looks like it. But that was a month ago before I needed a laptop within the next week, so I may have to just pay the extra cost of it now compared to the price it was a month ago. I just need a new work laptop within the next week and this seems like a quality build from some of the recent posts in the other thread.

This is built to game so your use case should be easy for it. Not sure about the battery, but based on the CPU and GPU you should be good. Look at the new ones for a bit more.

I'll be using this at home for the most part and rarely outside of the house, so I'm not too worried about the battery dying on me. Look at the new what?

This has probably the best battery life of any similar options anyways it lasts like 10 hours if you aren't gaming on it.

As a work laptop you could honestly do better as this is primarily designed as a travel laptop which is why it has the military grade impact and drop ratings and the crazy long battery life.

That said you could do way way worse than this so if you need it immediately I have no reason not to suggest this. I've had one around a year+ at this point and it would work completely fine for your situation you just wouldn't really be taking advantage of any of it's major selling points.

Yes, but pick the new one only cost you $30 more and you get the full warranty.
