Incredible deal for one of the best x86 handhelds out now. Yes there is a newer version which significantly improves battery life and only slightly improves performance. This first gen model is still very capable.

Paid $400 for my fair condition last year. I use it more than my console. So far it's handled Howgarts legacy, Ghosts of Tshima, spiderman remaster and miles morales all on high settings. It's indeed capable but make sure an outlet or powerbank is around cause it gives me about 45 mins on battery alone. Power source also enables higher gaming performance.

Really want to pull the trigger at this price but the 7inch screen is so tiny for certain games (e.g. WoW, CoD, CS, etc.). If that's not a concern for you, def run and grab one.

I bought the z1e for $315. Also bought a bigger battery for $75 on Alibaba. In total spent $400 comparable to the newest edition

Can you link to the battery? I've thought about upgrading to the X just because of the battery life.

Does the base ROG Ally still have the SD card breakdown issue or has it been fixed in newer batches?

This is $50 less than the deal I posted a couple weeks ago. Time to get ANOTHER $50 price adjustment from them, since I originally bought it for $550 Smilie So far I have been absolutely LOVING it!

There's newer wave of handhelds on the horizon so I'm not sure it's that great of a deal to be honest.

Yes. I don't think there's a real fix for it, other than the newly designed model in black, ROG Ally X that cost significantly more.

It's exercise while you play! That's a benefit you don't get with the Ally ROG.

I went ahead today and purchased this. Looks like that was the price around the holidays. Never had a handheld except the switch but looking forward to trying this out.
