Woah, Radeon dGPU, that's rare. Will this match a 4070 Mobile?

It looks like the performance of a Radeon RX7700S sits between a 4060 mobile and 4070 mobile. It has 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and draws about 100W of power.

Review: https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD...277.0.html

As far as gaming performance goes, it looks like it can handle playable FPS with modern games at up to QHD resolutions. For $750 this looks like a competent mid-range gaming laptop for a great price.

I am seeing open box good for $650 which is a slick price if all of the accessories are there.

Be careful with low vram GPUs. I had crashes with some newer games like FF Rebirth due to insufficient VRAM. 8gb isn't future proof at all. Also, 4060 can struggle with 60+ fps in newer games. So keep that in mind.

it's $750.... so long as you maintain normal expectations with your graphics settings 8GB will still do fine at 1080p for a while

It's something people should know. 2025 releases like Rebirth are massive and are documented to have vram issues on Steam forums. So users maybe have to opt for low settings compared to older games like 2077 or Ghost of Tsushima on PC. Personally I wouldn't buy a new PC under 16gb VRAM, and inability to play recent games at 90+ fps.

For example FF Rebirth cannot hold above 60fps stable with a 4060 (mobile), even if you cut settings at FHD. There will still be dips under 60.

I'm not saying to skip this deal, just warning people looking at 8/12gb vram GPUs.

This has been as low as $689 and $699 multiple of times, with the latter price being just 2-3 weeks ago. This has also been $719 before that.
I don't find a reason to buy this at a higher price when it would be lower than this again soon.

I own this. Minus being bulky this is also a good laptop. 16:10 screen and long battery life.

I bought this a few days ago when it first went on sale due to frequent crashes on my previous 4050 in Fortnite. This laptop is killer, I've got everything cranked to "epic" settings, ray tracing, you name it, and I get 100-120fps at 1920x1200. It's worth it imo.

How loud is the fan on this? I have a 1070 laptop that sounds like a blowdryer on max

That was before the new Trump tariffs.

I have been watching it for a while and it has only gone as low as $750 from what I have seen.

Prices that low were open box.

It would be better if you verified your claims before commenting.
