I have this. The usb-c port powers off if there's no activity through the cord. Meaning If I use a magsafe cable on a nightstand, I have to un-plug and re-plug it back in every night for it to register activity. If I knew this I def wouldn't have bought.
Everyday price for this.
What would be nice is if anyone can find anything that officially states what it is. I checked the Amazon listing, Anker's website, and their PDF of the product manual and didn't see it.

None of the reviews seems to have found it either, at least one Amazon reviewer said a rep told them it was 1200V, a second also claimed it was 1200V. The one saying 300V seems to be speculating. For anyone reading who doesn't know what this means, it's what voltage the protector will try to limit the voltage spike to and it's often recommended to look for 300-400V or less.

A different model of their protectors was recently called out for it's terrible clamping voltage so if they're unwilling to state it I ain't buying it.

Honestly, Anker need to get on top of this.

The reviews suggest the clamping voltage is 300V, which is pretty good.

Long gone my man you will have to wait for the next sale. I bought 10 of them and gave a couple to my brother.

Here's a comparable el-cheapo one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Southwir...5001417347

Why 300v and not 1200v

Odd as I've never had this happen with mine. Could be a difference in versions since I bought mine a couple years ago.

Not perfect, but all I use it for is as a power strip and secondary surge protector. I have a whole home surge protection so this is fail safe, so I wasn't so bothered by the clamp voltage. Although that is an important factor if using this to protect expensive equipment. I also don't used the USB ports, so can't speak to them shutting off or not. I know many power banks do shut off due to no draw so this is quite possibly the case with this product as well.

Anyway, I came here to say my biggest concern before buying was its size. I thought it'd be huge, like half a text book size sitting by my wall. Turns out it's quite compact and not much larger than the traditional 6 outlet strips. This was a pleasant surprise and definitely made the purchase worth it for me. It also allows me to plug in a few weird sized adapter bricks so it served that purpose well.

Could be due specifically to magsafe not communicating to the port like a normal usb-c cable would

Why 300v and not 1200v

Because if there's a power surge you don't want 1200V hitting your connected equipment.

Why not? 300v is also more than the 115v in my house.

Your electronics are designed to accept 115v, if they receive a "surge" of 1200v they might be damaged. This Anker device is designed to "protect" your electronics from being hurt by too high of a voltage.
