It's sad that the 4070 doesn't have an option for 32GB. Jumping to the 4080 just isn't necessary for me and it's a massive jump from $1700 to $2700. I am still in 2 minds given the cooling solution on the 4070 vs 4080. Also I rarely see any of the ASUS 4080 options going on sale. In a bit of a stalemate.
I think Intel shoots themselves in the foot with the renaming of processors like this. The Ultra processors are gaining no traction and we're seeing immediate sales on them. Casual users are still looking for generational model numbers only - creating a lot of confusion in the marketplace among casual users that aren't aware of the differences, or even that this is the newest generation.
Much superior screen, lighter and much better battery life on the g16. Slightly worse cpu performance that makes up for a vastly superior battery life. Also better build quality on the g16. I don't think it's worth $500 more, but if the price difference is like $200 or something, then g16.

I can't second this enough. The renaming this year is absolutely horrendous, confusing and forgetful with this series of processors.

While I agree with you guys too, I don't how else they could've made this new generation different than the conventional, because amd naming is also absolute trash, ever since the 7000 for laptops I have no idea what the naming means, it feels like they're completely lost on that matter and hurting the sales. Good for people who know what they're buying, since we're already seeing good discounts, bad for the companies and the regular users all around.

How is this compared to the M16?
Almost the same specs except a Core i9 vs i9 ultra.
The M16 does not have an OLED display though.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6535501

I bought the M16 as open box for $1185.

Where is this $100 promotional certificate listed above? I don't see it on the page. Does that mean it's essentially $1599?

I bought it...but now I'm doubting my purchase. Ultra 9 processor is good, but I think I might want an i9 or i7 instead.

Did you get any notification of the $100 certificate? Did you sign up for best buy plus?

I don't know what you mean by i9. This is about the same as last year's i9 13900h except with better battery life. If you mean HX processor, those do not exist on such a slim and lightweight laptop, and have half the battery life.

Yes i mean hx processor. You can get a laptop that is 1lb heavier and 1 inch greater in every dimension that has a hx processor. That's a lot of performance for such a small increase in bulk

Well this deal keeps getting better every day.

I don't have the membership but I'm assuming I'd have 60 days to return it if I get it and buy this instead of the paltry 15 days...60 days of better price adjustment if it happens.

1 inch increase in every dimension is MASSIVE lol - it's not that big of a difference. The best option currently available is the Legion Pro 7i in my opinion and it's about 2 lb heavier.

Pro 7i weight: 6.1 pounds
Pro 7i dimensions: 0.86" x 14.3" x 10.3"

G16 weight: 4.1 pounds
G16 dimensions: 0.59" x 13.97" x 9.72"

You either want a MacBook-like experience and don't need the extra performance or you NEED the performance. If you need it then thin and light is never going to work for you.
