I consider this one of the best all around laptop deals out there right now for anyone who is not looking for high end gaming performance. This laptop targets content creators at a price that will appeal to general school/business users.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/com...33-review/

This laptop has a nice looking (if lower FHD resolution) OLED monitor with 500 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage. The aspect ratio is 16:9 rather than the more modern 16:10 just as a heads up.

The Intel U7 155H CPU has plenty of power along with efficient power usage and the NPU cores for AI enabled apps. This latest generation Intel CPU also comes with improved integrated Arc graphics which is much better than the older iris graphics.

16 GB Ram is about the minimum you want to have in this machine, but the RAM is upgradeable later if you find yourself needing more.

The 3050 GPU is a bit of a head scratcher in this build, but will outperform integrated graphics for casual gaming for esports titles at the cost of battery life, especially at FHD.

Dedicated gamers should look for a laptop with a 4070/4060 GPU to avoid frustration. Something like this Acer Nitro 16: https://slickdeals.net/f/17749896-acer-nitro-16-16-fhd-165hz-ips-ryzen-7-7840hs-rtx-4060-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-899-99?src=category_page

Speaking of battery life, when using the intel ARC integrated graphics instead of the discrete GPU, the 75WHr battery lasts 9-10 hours for web surfing and video playback.

At this price you get a modern CPU, a nice looking FHD screen, upgradeable RAM and a 1TB SSD with light gaming capabilities. This laptop will outshine all of the older intel 12x/13x CPU deals that we are seeing right now, and the screen beats many 250 nits ips panels that we see on laptops in this price range.

This one stands out as one of the better laptops in the $800 range right now. Worlds better than the HP dragonfly, Lenovo Slim or Lenovo ideapad deals with older CPUs.

Ugh, Best Buy warranty are such ridiculous prices. Anywhere else that has this and would match?

Some credit cards (like AMEX) give an extra year warranty for free. Have you looked at your card benefits?

My Chase card does double warranty, but our last HP that is still living had three claims for accidental damage. Tempting at this price to just wing it with the extra year of chase warranty

Chase is awesome.

Have a Sapphire Preferred card and they've replaced broken electronics (my fault, and I admitted it) without any issues at all.

Bought a brand new GoPro before going on a vacay like 4 years ago and stupid me put the front part of a waterproof case on but I put an open back rear piece on it. Of course it died as soon as I submerged it in water. Stupid me.

Anyway, I called Chase and actually admitted what happened. They sent me the cost of the cam. I think they mentioned this is a perk of the card and I could take advantage of it once annually or something like that. Forgot.

My wife and I have taken advantage of it once since. Again, no real hassle. Needless to say we were pretty happy.

Thanks for the info! There is an excellent open box for $718, so I may jump on this.

The GoPro was around $350 or so if I recall and they refunded the cost entirely.

I'm not sure they'd replace something close to $1000 or above though. It may be in the fine print, but I'm not going to read any of that haha.

I have the BB app. I'm not a paying member. But I have a $10 promotion. Another $10 off if your interested.

But how does this BB Asus compare with a similar Walmart Asus? Walmart doesn't even look like its on sale.

They are different models; Bestbuy is a "Pro" model
At a glance,
Bestbuy
Pros: Better discrete graphics card (3050 95W vs Intel Arc), dialpad on the trackpad
Cons: Heavier + thicker, lower resolution + lower refresh rate (could improve battery life to a degree), 1TB4 and 1 usb-c 3.2 gen 2

Walmart
Pros: 2 TB4 ports
Other pros and cons are just inverse of the above.

Walmart has microsd card slot and BB has full size

I've had the model from Walmart. For the price, you can't beat the features you get. Sure, no discrete graphics, which if you don't game, you'll benefit from the longer battery life. If anything, I don't care for the color of the keyboard and lettering. Even with backlighting, it was hard to see the letters in some lighting conditions. BUT, that 2.8K and 120Hz display -- WOW. For $750, it's a steal. Try it out. Walmart has an easy return policy (just keep the laptop looking new).

EDIT: One thing on this model - upgradable memory. The Walmart unit is NOT upgradable.

What would be the most similar type of laptop at a 14" or smaller footprint?

How was the battery life on the Walmart one?

I would much rather have the hi res screen vs the discrete graphics.
Although, upgradable memory would be nice.

The silver keyboard might be the dealbreaker though.

I ran a YouTube 4K video test on balanced mode and got about 6.5 hours and there was about 20% battery left, so roughly 8 hours total. Probably longer if you do a 1080p video test with brightness turned down, battery saver mode, etc.

I ran a PCMark10 benchmark on it (real-life simulation running real apps, etc.) and here are the results: https://www.3dmark.com/pcm10/112014608

It scored very well.

Don't you get headaches because of these oled displays.
I am planning on getting https://slickdeals.net/f/17747652-lenovo-ideapad-pro-5i-16-2-5k-ips-120hz-i5-13500h-rtx-3050-16gb-lpddr5-1tb-ssd-699-99?src=category_page for this sole reason
