Decent specs for the price. The question I would ask is: how is the display?

No offense to the OP, or any lucky Asus fans, but FYI / FWIW - Here's my 4/16/2025, Asus Vivobook S 15 review on Best Buy:

I kept getting the Blue Screen of Death. Averaging about 5+ per day!
The Geek Squad "FIXED it" THREE times, but shortly after I got it home, same thing, BSOD!
Sent it into the Asus service center, & when I got it back 15 days later, got BSOD twice within 4-min.
They said the warranty does NOT include any replacements or refunds.

I will never buy another Asus product.
And I will also avoid buying anything from Best Buy.

PS - This is the one I bought:

.

April 25 EDIT: I talked to the Best Buy store manager yesterday, hoping that they could step up & help a loyal customer out. Nope! But he did take this opportunity to tell me that I should have bought their ($180) Total membership plan (within 1 or 2 weeks of purchase), so that I **might** have been eligible to have gotten store credit or exchange.
No, I don't think I will.

PS - Asus has a D- rating at the Better Business Bureau - Failure to respond to 83 complaint(s) filed against business

I've been looking for a thin laptop for work and light gaming so I bit on this deal. Picked up one in fair condition today. It had a couple of minor nicks in two corners, but looked good and clean otherwise. Satisfied with the purchase so far.

This thing overheats like anything. Unless you are gaming, get a Macbook.

Do you have a link to an OLED MacBook with an RTX 3050 for ~$650? I'll buy it right now. Thanks man.

Hard to answer that… gaming on battery? An hour or so. Regular "work" on battery 6 hours or so. Couple stats online show battery use but with a 3050 onboard it can chew through battery if you're trying to game on it

I got one. Weirdest thing someone scraped off the windows sticker on the bottom of the laptop. (With the reg key on it). All the other stickers were still on. Odd someone would take that. Anyway, great laptop at a great price if you can get one

Bought the Pro 16 for my kid. Very fast, and the screen was very bright.

Fan is a little bit loud but otherwise nice notebook.

Our Vivobook Pro 15 failed just under 2 years, was repaired under warranty in Taiwan (2 year warranty here). They said it was the keyboard failed so it wouldn't power on, or something.

Our ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED lasted only 10 months.
Also repaired via Best Buy under US warranty.

ASUS service in Taiwan is great, go figure.

Were you rough with the keyboard? Even the one on my vostro from 2007 still works.

Windows computers haven't had the actual registration sticker for many years, they are all licensed in the BIOS now. At least for the large manufacturers. Smaller shops may actually buy OEM windows and have a sticker still.

Both laptops were school computers for my middle schooler, so they have a hard life. The younger one's Dellrefurbished Latitude has held up fine, but those are tougher models.

Our Alienware X14 is worse, still works but has some wonkiness and the wifi died quickly.

Their new school uses ipads instead, so don't need laptops anymore, which is good I guess, cause I don't know who makes a reliable laptop.

The Lenovo laptops with the red pointer on the keyboard are sturdy. Thinkpad series.
